travelling

natas fair last week plus so many promos splashed over e papers everyday.. makes me think abt where i wana head to for my next holiday. juz been to bangkok in jan but somehow it seemed so long ago. maybe din reali enjoyed much cuz its purely a shopping trip. holidays can only be truly holidays when u don spend all your time shop... so where shall i head to and with whom?

frenz been talking abt hongkong but been there jz over 2 years back. was a fun trip with chao cuz we not only mai dong xi chi dong xi but also went exploring around to the outerskirts. i remembered we went wang da xian and spent a fun time throwing those oranges up the "yin yuan" trees. but tat thing reali worked cuz i got attached within the next 6mths! ha but they nv guarantee good yin yuan so oh well.. its all fated one rite. haha.

hmm... been tinking abt vietnam since uni days when i took up vietnamese lang. or was it b4 uni? i tink so. temp-ed at a shipping firm for few mths while waiting for uni admission and my ang mo boss was always telling me abt the fun trips he had to saigon and showing me many beautiful pics of hanoi.. so i guessed always made me wan go see the place for myself. been talking with jas abt gg there since yr 4 when we were discussing abt grad trip. but so dao mei cuz there was a bird flu outbreak in viet so we aborted the plans. in the end.. the few of us ended up in harris resort at batam. haha cuz everywhere bird flu scares so we didnt really have a choice. but it was a fun trip tho! we travelled to the main town called nagoya i tink and did mani pedi.. shopped and rushed back for seafood dinner at a kelong. i guess fun travel companions made the trip smthg memorable too.. :)

so where to tis year? i missed my melbourne trip and contemplating if shd jio jing to go back but maybe to Cairns.. but tat wld be ex and given my plans for savings tis yr.. duno if i shd plan a nearer destination? Lombok? Krabi maybe? wan visit Japan n Korea too!

ahhh too many places to go! i shall go dream abt a destination now... and let my dreams satisfy me for the time being.. keke.. hmm better still hope uncle chew can give me a lucky set of no.s for tis sat? den dreams no more but to the real deal... hehe...

Back in office, i tot michelle abt wat happened and joked that maybe i shd attend next mth's orientation again...she said she'll showcase me as a bad example.. haha

Other that the hiccup, my mtg with mr organic was... hmm... generally not that ok... fumbled through the presentation as i tot LC wld be going through it since i'll be taken off this project pretty soon. got a shock when boss asked me to present on the spot. ahhhhh....... lesson learnt: ALWAYS be prepared...

got home today @ 6.30. traffic was a breeze along PIE today. called my ex-boss on my way back to chat. haven heard from her for more than a mth and sudd tot i missed her chirpy voice. well, the conversation salvaged the day...

wanted to go for a quick jog since i was early but skies seemed grey. so i popped roxie on my bicycle basket and tot i'll take her for a ride instead.. felt gd after the ride but all efforts were later destroyed by an innocent cone - Cookies n Cream cornetto.. heeehee..

meeting silvia for happy hour tml nite @ alley's... hope the live band is there tml!

at long last....

im a procratinator... and thats y it took me months to finally start writing again. even my last blog has given up on me. don even let me login at all :(

but glad i finally set up another one again! hope i can keep tis one going.... (*hui crosses fingers*)

today's been a long bluey day. stuck in a day workshop about sustainability.. someone told us how he drove 6000km across Australia by mixing waste cooking oil and methane (with drums of cooking oil stocked in his old mercedes benz).. interesting how ppl are driven to experiment in things that they are passionate about.. makes me think about my life and life in Sg. During lunch some weeks back, a expat colleague commented that he found singaporeans are generally low risk takers, afraid to deviate from the norm. i wondered if environment had shaped us or its just in oneself? oh well, when the time comes and if i apply for springboard, i hope i can challenge my limits and see how far i can go... :)

oh well, talking about diesel... just went to pump petrol juz now.. prices are up again!! uncle sunny hasnt been very nice to my wallet these days :( well i guess its only for this week. when zhiwei's back from his honeymoon next week, no more free parking for me so its "hello" to uncle sbs again... oh well less stressful anyway since PIE has been jamming so badly this days..

better zzzz else tired skin again tml.. hope tml's appt with mr organic goes well!

blind dates

have u seen the stomp event on blind dates?

saw it on the papers today. got a surprise when i saw tat his pic and cldnt help but go c wat his video said abt him. gosh.. his intro was kinda fake. oh well truths were never meant to be revealed rite.. somemore on public media. oh well i juz wished his blind date gd luck.. don get me wrong.. there are nice things abt him but there are also not so nice things abt him too.. so it depends which side of him u see in the end..

a gruesome conversation

Have been in sgh for the last 3 days. Was like a 3D1N chalet cuz i stayed overnight on the day dad had his op. He never liked hospitals (who do anyway?) and moreover he was running fevers on and off i was getting worried. But im glad i stayed cuz i tink he felt happier knowing that i was going to :)

oopz.. back to the topic.

In one of the lifts i took today, i overheard a conversation between 2 young doctors which got me feeling sick....

doc A: hey u know i realli hate that XX-scopic surgeries. Can fall asleep u noe? nothing exciting to see one. i wish for more open surgeries! so much more to see!

doc B nodded in agreement and laughed.

thank god the lift door opened at the next level and they walked out. But tat half min conversation was enuff to spoil my appetite for e bar chor mee i jz bought...
